Humility cannot be known by your respect for those above you, but by your regard for those below you.
Respect for those above you is a normal calculated move; afterall if you do not respect them you will not also get the privileges from them.
But when you regard those below you, listen to the counsel of your subordinates, think about those who have nothing (material) to offer you, and you do that in sincerity and honesty, then you are humble.
If I am above you (by position or others) and you honor me, that’s respect (not humility); let me see you apply the same to those below you.
